Election 2026

Updated: Nov 15, 2025

It is only a few months until our next tribal-wide election for Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana Council members!! The positions expiring next April 2026 include the offices of Chairman, Secretary-Treasurer, and two Council Member at Large posts. That is four openings that incumbents and new candidates will be vying for this coming spring.

This is essentially the only time & definitive process when our people have the opportunity to express how they want to see our tribal community move forward. It is the only time the Tunica-Biloxi people are able to weigh in on their thoughts regarding the performance of tribal leaders, holding the leaders accountable for the decisions they have made in the name of our Tunica-Biloxi community.

I am told we have over 1900 enrolled tribal citizens. Of that number approximately 1000 are voting adults. Our tribe has historically had good turnouts for our elections, usually around 60%. Sometimes people choose not to vote because they feel their vote won't count for much. As a former tribal leader who won one election by one vote and another by two votes, I can tell you, YOUR VOTE COUNTS!!!

In the months leading up to our 2026 Election, I want to encourage you sincerely to reach out to all the candidates and speak with them about the issues that concern you. Ask them questions. Consider all the answers you receive, and do discuss the answers with your fellow tribal citizens. The more we communicate with one another, the greater the chances we can find answers and solutions to the challenges our people are facing today and will face far into the future.

As we enter this holiday season, enjoy time with loved ones. Give thanks for all our blessings. Take the opportunity to share your dreams for our tribal community with one another. I am sending prayers that you and yours will have a joyous, productive experience as we all consider what the future can hold for the Tunica-Biloxi Tribal people. God Bless!!
